This Interceptor / Light Corvette hybrid gets the worst of both deals except where it comes to fuel. Dispatching them individually is fine, but when they swarm they become a nuisance. 'Mostly harmless'

This cut-down version of a Heavy Corvette poses more of a threat to the embryonic fleet of Level 02 & Level 04. Heavy Corvettes (frequently docked for repairs) or large numbers of Interceptors are sufficient to send them packing.

This Standard Corvette / Missile Destroyer hybrid boasts a high ownage factor. It too is capable of a missile volley, releasing five missiles per second until its reservoir of 60 missiles is exhausted, whereapon it drops down to roughly 3 missiles per second. It's a shame neither the Kushan nor the Taiidan develops the know-how of how to incorporate missile launchers into the Corvette Chassis.
I have tried to capture these ships but my Salvage Corvettes begin docking manouvers and then the Missile Corvette runs away for a bit.
As with the Missile Destroyers, the missiles home in on enemy Strike Craft so keep docking Interceptors to repair them. Heavy Corvettes, with their heavier armor, can be set to destroy these great ships.

A prototype of the Ion Cannon Frigate, this Capital Ship lacks the autoRepair facility so, if you convert any of them, beware that you will have to assign a Support Frigate to repair them during / after battles or they will stay damaged. They also have lower range, speed and armor.
Nevertheless, as it prepares to fire, there is some nice animation of its solar panels opening out. It fires for 1.5 seconds and then charges for 1.5 seconds, so it is best to get a few Ion Array Frigates working together on the same target. In Level 04 they target your Salvage Corvettes primarily, then your Mothership.
Can not be converted by a Carrier.

This Mothership is the size of a Player's Carrier but it has the advantage of two Ion Beams and the capability of building ships larger than Frigates (ie Destroyers, Cruisers, etc.)
Both times it is spotted in the Single Player missions, Fleet Intel mistakes it for a Carrier. But it for certain is not.
Unfortunately you need to have 99 Salvage Corvettes latched onto it to be able to drag it back to your Mothership. The game will only allow you to build 50 Corvettes so you'll never have enough. Anyway the ship only has six places where a Salvage Corvette can latch on. With six SC's hanging onto it, it stops moving but continues to fire on the SC's.
It is not a carrier!
"Mothership Captureable" MOD
