GALACTIC CORE
[0:36:12:0]
- As the SC's emerge from the Carrier (they are unaffected by Grav Wells)
in pairs, Pause-target them on the 6x(E)AF and then on the 9x(E)SF's
- Set your RC's to Harvest. Set a RCn to Guard one
- Fleet Intel informs you that the enemies are targetting our SCr which
have been disabled by the Grav Wells. He is wrong about this; the SCr
are safe in the MS or Carrier so the poor (E)MD is doing the next best
thing and taking a few pot-shots at where the SCr ought now to be lining
up. These harmlessly hit your IF's and AF's but set 3xSC onto the (E)MD
quickly to put it out of its misery; it won't even resist
- Once all the (E)SF's have been rescued, then set a pair of SC's
on each (E)GWG (otherwise the (E)SF's flee and they travel faster than
SC's do).
- (Hint: a lone (E)Scout is send to check on how the (E)MD is getting on.
It sometimes gets stuck in the Grav Well. If it does, set one SC to
collect it <grin>)
- An enemy probe will be detected [AL] so get a MBF to blat it. (Or if
you are low on cash, Rescue and Retire it for 18RU's!)
- Put some PS [F] and slightly [L]. You might get 3x(E)IF's and (E)CFG
attacking them
- All this time, the enemy is harvesting your precious RU's so leave one
Carrier refitting its spoils and get the other one moving [F] and
slightly [L] with a PS in Military Parade with it
- You will come across the 3x(E)IF and (E)CFG, seen by the PS. Set a pair
of SC's on the (E)CFG and and a pair one each (E)IF
- Shorlty afterward you will meet 2x(E)IF and (E)GWG. Resuce them
- While all this is happening, have all your HC's, D's and MD's move [F]
until they are further from the MS than your Carrier is
- Set 5 of your new SF's to Support your MS. Set your IF's and IAF's to
Guard the MS. Move your AF's and MBF's [U] a short way and set them to
Aggressive
- When the Carrier near your MS has finished converting, send it to just
behind your D's. Send with it some GWG's (they're not much use later)
and the remaining SF's. You might add a CFG per GWG if you're feeling
adventurous
- The HC's, D's and MD's will have discovered the main enemy force; a
(E)Carrier replete with (E)IF's, (E)AF's, (E)SF's, a (E)RCn, a (E)GWG
and heaps of (E)SCr. These will be pacing back and forth on the left
while another (E)Carrier acts as a RCn to the right. Ignore the
second (E)Carrier at first
- Set each of your CFG's to 'Guard' a GWG. Cloak one GWG and set it near
the (E)SCr before activating its special. Let your MD's burn the (E)SCr
- Set your D's and HC's to beam the (E)AF's and (E)IF's
- Salvage the 2x(E)SF's to get them out of the way. Make sure your Carriers
are close enough to the battle that the SC's don't have to treck back
and forth constantly
- The 5x(E)RC's will return to Dock with the (E)RCn periodically. Rescue
them to save the RU's for yourself. Salvage the RCn later since it has
to go back to the MS and cannot do anything on its own
- When the battlefield has cleared somewhat, set 5xSC's on each (E)Carrier.
Once the (E)Carriers are clear of the Grav Well, set your MGC's to Guard
the SC's surrounding the (E)Carriers; they will go on spewing out
(E)Defenders and (E)MGC's for a while
- Collect the (E)GWG. When you have 3xSC's free, set them on the (E)RCn
but make sure you leave 5xSC's at the MS after the (E)Carriers are
released
- Retire all GWG's which are used up (GWG's that you capture are recharged
for you to use)
- Leave your Carriers around the place as RCn's if you like. Start to move
the HC's, D's and MD's back to the MS
- A small assault force will attack your MS. Set your MGC's and AF's on the
15x(E)Interceptors. Set your 19xMBF's on the 6x(E)IF's. In the confusion,
your 5xSC's ought to be able to get in and resue the (E)HC
- As soon as the last enemy is vanquished, Fleet Intel will introduce you
to Group Captain Elson in his (A)Destroyer Kapella. Set your MGC's onto the
enemy Interceptors prone on the (E)SF chasing him
- Salvage the 2x(E)AF's, 2x(E)IF's (E)SF. I think you don't really have to
hurry in saving him but since there's not much else happening, you might
as well...
- Finish Harvesting
